Objectives and Priorities
Taking into consideration of the harsh realities that affect the Dalits and the other poor people the Trust plans to run Humanitarian Programmes such as Children’s Homes, Homes for the Aged, Rehabilitation Centres for Sexually exploited and abused Destitute Women, Vocational Training programmes such as Sewing and Embroidery to the dalit and poor girls and Destitute Women, Rural Health Care Centre, Rehabilitation Centre for HIV/AIDS Patients and HIV/AIDS Prevention projects, Scheme for Improving the Village Economy, etc it is hoped that these and other related projects will help the Trust not only address the problems of the chosen area and work for the improvement of their living standard of the people but also uplift them from the hegemony of the money lenders and other oppressive structures in order to live a self-reliant and dignified life.
The Humanitarian programmes are not just planned to provide temporary relief to the orphans, the needy and the destitute but also to extend long-term relief to them.
To achieve this objective the Trust plans to impart standard and quality vocational taining and guidelines so that the targeted underprivileged people groups shall improve their skills and ability to stand on their own to meet their economic and social needs.
The Trust plan to run Educational Programmes such as School for the Hearing Impaired and a Training Centre for the Hearing Impaired, model primary and Higher Secondary schools, Computer Training Centre for the Dalit and Village youths. The Trust is eager to undertake Educational Programmes to make available the quality and standard basic and higher education to the Dalit and other economically backward children.
The Trust also plans to establish Self-help groups among the village women and the economically weaker sections by offering them the basic training in embroidery and sewing. In doing so, it not only seeks to restore the lives of these people but also plans to make them responsible citizens in their given situations. Thus it seeks to reduce and eventually obliterate the disparities that exist between the haves and have-nots in the economical front and remove the social stigmas that affect the psyche of the Dalits, the destitute women, the physically challenged persons and the HIV/AIDS infected persons.
